Specify them together

A delivery line is three things that wear in three different ways. Specify them together or the weakest one determines if you can complete the job.

Pipe

The straight lengths, and the bulk of any line. Internal wear varies throughout the system and should be monitored at defined inspection locations.

What to InspectThe wall, from the inside out. Wall thickness, pumping pressure, mix abrasiveness and volume pumped together determine how many cubic metres a length places before it comes off the job.

Elbows & Bends

Elbows concentrate wear where concrete changes direction, commonly along the outer radius and tangent areas. High-wear elbows, particularly near the base of a riser, should be inspected on a scheduled basis.

Couplings, clamps and gaskets

Couplings join and seal pipeline components. Separate clamps, brackets and anchors support the line and transfer weight and thrust loads into the structure.

What to InspectCouplings and gaskets are repeatedly handled and pressure-cycled, making them important inspection and replacement points, especially on lines assembled and disassembled often.
